FAQ

Diamonds

What happens to diamond prices if the market value of diamonds changes?

Please note that our pricing for diamonds is subject to change based on current market conditions. In the event of a significant drop in the market value of diamonds, we reserve the right to adjust our prices accordingly to reflect the current market rates.

Are all the diamonds you sell laser inscribed?

All Brian Gavin Signature natural diamonds are laser inscribed on the girdle with the Brian Gavin logo and either the GIA or AGS Report number. This is noted on the GIA or AGS Report in the comments section. All Brian Gavin Premium lab-grown diamonds are laser inscribed on the girdle with either the GIA or AGS Report number and Laboratory-Grown.  Diamonds from the national database may be laser inscribed. If you select a diamond that is not laser inscribed and would like us to send the diamond back to the lab to be inscribed with the certificate/report updated and reissued, you will be responsible for the $200 charge plus round trip FedEx overnight/insured shipping.

Do all your diamonds come with a diamond certificate/grading report?

Brian Gavin Diamonds only sells loose natural diamonds that are GIA or AGS Graded. Lab-grown diamonds will have an GIA, AGS or IGI grading report. The original certificate/report is shipped with the diamond. If you decide to return the diamond within the inspection period and you have damaged or mislaid the certificate/report, there will be a $200 charge to have it reissued at the lab.

Why are your diamond prices so much lower than in retail stores?

Brian Gavin's roots run deep in the cities of Antwerp and Amsterdam. The generations and years of relationships with various cutting facilities in these cities affords him a unique pricing structure which he is then able to pass on to you, the customer.

Do you own all the diamonds you sell?

Every Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows round, Signature cushion, Signature princess, Signature emerald, Signature Blue®, The Cape Series®, Black by Brian Gavin® natural diamond is owned by us and is held in house. The Virtual and Select diamonds on the general diamond database are housed at different vendors and manufacturers around the country. With regards to the general diamond database, Brian Gavin has applied his years of experience and has narrowed this listing to diamonds that are either GIA or AGS Graded and are cut within specific selected parameters. Every "virtual" diamond that we sell is brought in house first. Every diamond is personally examined by Brian Gavin who gives it his Stamp of Approval. If there are no diamond images on the website listing, the customer is provided with a diamond picture via e-mail prior to finalizing the sale. An ASET image is available by request only. Every diamond or piece of diamond jewelry is packed under camera and is shipped from our location to the customer.

Do you sell lab created diamonds?

Yes we do. We are providing our clients with the option to buy Hearts and Arrows lab-grown diamonds by popular demand. In other words, we are responding to a growing number of client requests for lab-grown diamonds that exhibit the superior performance that our patented process delivers. Brian feels that it’s our responsibility to provide our clients with the best sparkle factor available. In that case, we’ve spent the past two years researching the various methods of growing lab-created diamonds. As a result, we’re able to provide our customers with another first in the realm of high-performance diamonds. We were not against lab-grown diamonds, but don’t think that they offer the same value as natural, earth-mined diamonds. Ultimately, we just want to ensure that our clients get the best sparkle factor available whether they prefer natural or lab-grown diamonds. For more checkout: https://bglab.briangavindiamonds.com/

Insurance

How do I insure my diamond or diamond jewelry?

Many people think that the best way to insure their jewelry is to add a rider to their homeowner's insurance. This is not always the most cost effective option and it usually pays to research companies who insure diamonds and jewelry separately. A separate jewelry policy helps you avoid the very real risk of putting your valuable Homeowner's policy in jeopardy in terms of higher premiums, or even cancellation, in the event your jewelry is lost or stolen. Jeweler's Mutual Insurance (JMI) is a full service and reputable company. Jeweler's Mutual offers a simple, affordable jewelry-only insurance policy, based on an invoice or appraisal provided by the jeweler at the point of sale so that your jewelry is covered before you even receive it. Click here to contact Jeweler's Mutual Insurance directly

Is my package insured during the shipping process?
