Lesley Attends her Brother’s Wedding in Sydney, Australia…
I have just returned from an incredible week in Sydney, Australia where I flew to be at the wedding of my brother Barry, and his beautiful new wife Eva. Brian would have loved to have joined me but he had to stay back to oversee operations here at BGD. It was not the best timing, considering the time of the year, but I really wanted to be there to share in the joy of the event and spend time with my family. The highlight was that all 3 of us children (myself, Barry and our younger sister, Lisa) were together with our parents, who had flown in from South Africa, for only the 2nd time in 28 years.
The wedding ceremony took place in a greenhouse in the Sydney Botanical Gardens, where the chuppah (wedding canopy) had been lovingly created by one of Eva's friends. There were about 100 guests, many of whom were work associates who had traveled from Singapore, Beijing and Hong Kong. Barry's 3 sons and Eva's daughter from their previous marriages were the attendants in a beautiful and emotional ceremony. A string quartet accompanied the couple down the aisle after the ceremony was over.
A magnificent buffet lunch with every delicacy you can imagine was served in a beautiful house in the Botanical Gardens. I took a few pictures so that I could share them with you here today. Before I end, I did want to thank the many customers who e-mailed me notes of congratulations and support while I was away.
