Brian Gavin Creates Magnificent Platinum 7 Stone Certified Diamond and Pave Right Hand Ring for Discerning Customer…
In Mid May we received a call from a referred customer looking to replace his wife's magnificent platinum right hand diamond ring that had gone missing. His wife was devastated at having lost her ring and he was anxious to replace it as soon as possible with a slightly modified and more elaborate design. He had heard good things about Brian Gavin from a colleague at work who had been "walking" friends with Brian many years ago when there was still time to take long and energetic walks!
He e-mailed us a picture of a diamond band that was similar to her original ring and we got started on the CAD. Brian recommended a .75 ct. Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows diamond in the center, then 2 x .50 ct., 2 x .40 ct. and finally 2 x .30 ct. for an approximate total weight of 3.15ct H & A diamonds. All 7 of the large certified diamonds were Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows of F/G color and VS2/SI1 clarity. There were approximately 2 carats of princess cut diamond melee and 1 carat of Brian Gavin Signature round diamond melee. All round and princess cut diamond melee were F/G VS.
In the first CAD rendering, the edge of the shank was too sharp for the customer's taste, so it was reworked to round out the edges. Once the CAD was approved, the ring was then cast, all the diamonds were carefully set and it was finished off to the very high polish finish which has become the signature for all Brian Gavin's custom jewelry. The finished platinum ring was 14mm wide! Needless to say, our customer's wife was ecstatic!
