Brian Gavin Creates Custom Made Diamond Pendant with Customer's Old Mine Cut Diamond...
A customer contacted me a few weeks ago inquiring about recutting a 1.25 carat Old Mine Cut that was set into a men's yellow gold ring. In order for me to make an educated decision, she sent in the ring and I unmounted the diamond to examine it for a recut. It was a classic and beautiful old miner and I recommended that she keep it as is and have it reset into something for herself. She decided that she would like us to create a diamond shaped 18K white gold pendant set with Brian Gavin Signature melee F/G VS and she e-mailed in a hand drawn picture. We set to work on the project and the finished piece enhanced her diamond beyond recognition.
She received the pendant just before the July 4th weekend and e-mailed in the following:
" I received the pendant this morning. Before leaving the house I did not forget to put a chain on ready to wear the new pendant. I opened the package right in my car in the Fedex's parking lot. Took a long look, the pendant turned out to be very nice. The melees like a rainbow around my diamond. I could not wait to wear it. Still in my car, looked at myself wearing new pendant in car's mirror with happy smiley face. If someone were there, they must have thought I was a nut :-).
