Brian gavin 3 Stone Trellis Engagement Ring

Should I buy a three stone or halo ring?

Danny, I'm trying to decide between a three stone or halo style engagement ring, which should I buy? I'm looking for a round brilliant center stone around 1.20 carats, F or G color, in the VS range for clarity and I'm open to the idea of blue fluorescence because that seems kind of cool. Do you have any recommendations? I'd like to keep this around $15 - 17K. Thanks. - Thomas C.

Hello Thomas,

Thank you for contacting me, let's start by taking a look at the current inventory of Brian Gavin Diamonds and finding a few options for you to consider:

A diamond from the Brian Gavin Blue collection:

It has an overall cut grade of AGS Ideal-0 from the AGS Laboratory for light performance, polish, symmetry, and proportions, which means that the volume of light return and sparkle factor is going to be off the charts! And the medium blue fluorescence is going to give the body color of the diamond just a little boost, but the diamond will only glow blue, as pictured to the left, when the diamond is exposed to black light.

A diamond from the Brian Gavin Signature line:

The second option which I think you'll find interesting is this 1.237 carat, F-color, VS-2 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature Diamond with a hearts and arrows pattern. Like all of the diamonds featured in the Signature Collection, it has negligible fluorescence and an overall cut grade of AGS Ideal-0 as described above. The visual properties of this diamond and the Brian Gavin Blue diamond will be similar, so I'm confident that you could flip a coin and select either one and look like a hero! Especially when it is set in either a three stone ring or a diamond halo engagement ring from the vast selection available in our catalogue of engagement rings.

Choosing between three stone and halo ring styles:

I truly like the look of both three stone style engagement rings and halo style engagement rings, so I'm not sure wh

ich ring style that I would choose. Hopefully your fiancé has given you some indication of what ring style she prefers, and that inclination would be the deciding factor for me. Perhaps she has left you a clue like pages ripped out of bridal magazines scattered all over the house, or a collage of ring styles glued to a dream board... don't laugh, it is more common than you might think!

Brian Gavin 3 Stone Trellis Setting:

Brian Gavin Diamonds offers a wide variety of three stone diamond rings, however the 18k white gold three stone trellis ring pictured at the top of this post is one of the most popular designs. As with the majority of engagement rings offered by Brian Gavin, the ring is available in platinum, rose gold, yellow gold, and white gold. The best way to start designing this ring is to begin by selecting a diamond from either the Brian Gavin Signature or Brian Gavin Blue collections, then we will help you select an appropriate pair of matching accent diamonds that will compliment the center stone and fit well in this particular ring style. Since this ring is custom made to order, production time is about two weeks.

Custom Halo Setting from Brian Gavin:

Brian Gavin Diamonds also offers a large selection of diamond engagement rings which Brian Gavin Signature Melee which is VS in clarity and F-G color. Melee, pronounced "mey-ley", is the word used in the diamond industry to describe faceted diamonds which weigh less than a fifth of a carat. This custom halo engagement ring with melee diamonds set in a halo around the center stone and down the ring shank so that it wraps around the finger is a very popular style with Brian Gavin customers! It even features a hidden "surprise stone" which is visible within the crown of the setting from a side profile, as can be seen in the additional photographs provided on the details page.

Regardless of whether you choose a three stone ring from Brian Gavin, or one of our popular halo engagement rings, I think you'll discover that your fiancé is over the moon with excitement and that she'll receive more compliments than you might imagine because of the superior sparkle factor displayed by our diamonds.
