How to buy a 3 carat diamond ring

“I’m looking for a 3 carat diamond engagement ring in the range of $50k, and want it to be eye clean and white, I see two Brian Gavin Signature three carat diamonds that are within tolerance of this range, one is a little bit more than I want to spend, and one is a bit less and lower in color than I think I’m comfortable with. I guess that I’m wondering whether my price range is reasonable, or whether I need to dedicate a bit more to the project in order to get the look I really want. Which diamond would you recommend? This 3.018 carat, H-color, SI-1 clarity, BGD Signature diamond, or this 3.122 carat, K-color, VS-1 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature round diamond? And do you have any other three carat diamonds rings currently in-production at the factory? Maybe something a little less expensive? There was a 2.87 carat diamond awhile back that was higher in clarity and color, and closer to my desired price range.

3 carat diamond ring prices:

You might not be aware that there is a substantial increase that occurs at the primary tiers of carat weight, such as one carat, two carats, three carats, and so forth; thus there is a major increase in the price of diamonds that occurs between the 2.99 and 3.00 carat marks.

Therefore the price per carat for the 2.87 carat diamond that you saw awhile back, would be less than a three carat diamond of the same color, clarity, and cut quality. While we don’t have anything currently in-production that weighs slightly less than 3.00 carats, the reality is that Brian Gavin cuts diamonds, and will be happy to custom cut a diamond on your behalf, if we can find a piece of diamond rough that is suitable, however any such orders must be paid for in advance, since they are custom projects.

Three carat diamond rings from Brian Gavin:

As far as our current inventory of three carat Brian Gavin Signature round diamonds go, the best option for you is probably the 3.018 carat, H-color, SI-1 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows round diamond, which has an overall cut grade of AGS Ideal-0 and exhibits a crisp and complete pattern of hearts and arrows. The degree of optical precision required to produce this exquisite pattern of hearts and arrows, combined with the super ideal cut diamond proportions that Brian Gavin adheres to, cause this diamond to exhibit the highest volume of light return and broad spectrum sparkle!

Broad spectrum sparkle is the kind of sparkle that grab people’s attention from across the room! It is sparkle that is larger in size, bolder, brighter, and more vivid than the type of pin-fire sparkle that is exhibited by the majority of round brilliant ideal cut diamonds that are cut to slightly different parameters.

Suffice to say that there is more to buying diamonds than just knowing the right combinations of crown and pavilion angle, the overall facet structure of the diamond plays a critical part in the creation of virtual facets, which are the internal reflections of light that are created by the overlapping of facets within the diamond, and the precise alignment of those facets, along with consistency of facet shape and size. The inherent knowledge of how to bring all the factors of diamond cutting together is one of the reasons why Brian Gavin Sets the Standard for Hearts and Arrows Diamonds!
